Day 3 – Entebbe to Kamuzinda

by Thomas O’Malley

Today we started our day with breakfast at 7.30 am. We then left entebbe at 8:00am, after a two and a half hour drive we arrived at the Equator where we stayed and explored and had lunch for an hour and a half. We then set off for a further three and a half hour drive to finally reach Kamuzinda. We had a very warm welcome with a ceremony to celebrate our arrival (you could tell they were exited because the ceremony went on for an hour), it felt like the opening ceremony to the World Cup! We then had a play around with the kids for a while, which consisted of football, games and a bunch of fun. We then had a delicious dinner made by Mama Millie. It consisted of plantain (Matoke), watermelon, rice and beef (this was delicious). Now to end my post with a bit of laughter, this morning I got stuck in a toilet and the lock wouldn’t  unlock so I had to wait for half an hour for full backup to arrive. The staff couldn’t unlock it so they got a ladder and climbed over to help me up and they got some furniture for me to jump down on and it was all good in the end.

Thanks for reading day 3 the blog of Uganda 2026.
