Day 28
This is Jenson
Today we woke up at 4:30 am. After getting ready for half an hour we went down for breakfast. After that we got on the coasters and got to the airport. It took us a few hours to get through security. When we eventually got through we were told to board. On the plane I watched a film called weapons and relaxed. Many people used the flight to catch up on sleep. When we got to Gatwick we very promptly got through customs and managed to reach the bus and pack all our bags in to the van. I was then asked to write the blog by Tahlie. Right now we are on the road home and I want a coffee. It’s been an awesome trip full of pretty cool memories.

Making new friends at Kamuzinda school (Jenson)

Finding out more about uganda and helping out with the schools (Poppy H).
A good highlight would be being able to travel around with friends as it had a good set of laughs along side songs (Maisie).
Another highlight would be the shops at the schools except the 3rd school was disappointing due to lack of choice. (Max)
A good highlight of the trip would be being able to spend time with all of the kids in the schools but also being able to spend time with the friends that came onto this trip with us (Ziva)
Making new friends with kids in the schools we visited and people on the trip (Isla)
My favourite part of the trip was probably making new friends or learning about the culture and the different ways they live (Toby)
Hello my favourite part of the trip was bushpig especially learning about the clans and the kings and then the tall tower in the mosque was cool but my most favourite thing about the trip was making new friends! [thanks, gus ]
My favourite part of the trip was probably the purge at Kamuzinda and bushpig hostel, I really enjoyed spending time with everyone and creating special memories with my friends (isabelle)!!
(Josie!) My favourite part of the trip was the night time safaris and Kamuzinda purges!
(Fin) my favourite part was the safari because we got to see tons of amazing animals and I also got to talk to my friends about the amazing trip!
(Ozzy) my highlights of the trip are arriving in Kamuzinda, the bus tour around Kampala and the bar area and pool in the safari hotel.
(Albert) My highlights of the trip have to be the welcoming ceremonies we got from the different schools, working while listening to music and the safari in general.
(Thomas O) Personally my favourite parts had to be safari as we saw lions and 3 of the big 5. Then comes the working at the schools due to the fact I got to use a hoe, my favorite tool, also it made me appreciate the value of hard work. I also loved making memories and friends to last a lifetime. I also learnt to appreciate the value of the stuff I have at home as the kids at the schools have very little but are very happy.
Eoin M – my favourite parts of the trip was safari and working at the schools. The safari was really awesome and the construction at the schools was fun work.
Dylan cl – My favourite part of the trip would have to be the incredible welcomes from all the different schools and the incredible safari where we saw many amazing animals!
Thomas K – my favourite part of the trip was getting to know the school children at the various schools. I also enjoyed the safari with our very fun enthusiastic driver
Eli L, My favourite part of the trip was learning about Ugandan history/culture especially the tombs of the kings but also the wide range of birds that constantly surrounded us with choruses all morning long.
Leon T, my favourite part of the trip was painting Sam and Pat’s house on one of the first days of work in Kamuzinda school. It was so wholesome and we could definitely tell how much it meant to the family living there. I also liked the pool.
Isaac J, My favourite part of the trip was the visit to the mayor’s chambers not because it was that much fun (it wasn’t i was very bored) but it was so funny because we were literally just a publicity stunt and all the photos and the mayor calling his wife a bouncy castle. And the giraffes.
Megan R, my favourite part was on our last night at kamuzinda and all of the children were there and we were dancing and there was a bonfire and we served them dinner.
I also liked when we met the mayor and saw his wooden leg.
Molly H – I enjoyed the last night at kamuzinda where we served food for the village, had a dance party with the kids and sat singing by a bonfire.
Ella -my favourite part of the trip was getting to hang out with all the kids from kamuzinda and spending time around the bonfire with everyone that we met. I also loved the safari and getting to see all the animals especially the elephants and I really liked our driver, Gerald.
Sophie – my favourite part of the trip , were the days we spent at kamuzinda with the kids , I loved the party at the end of the time we spent at the school and singing songs with everyone around the campfire. I also really enjoyed the safari and seeing the elephants.
Chloe- my favourite part of the trip was the week we spent at kamuzinda, especially when we got to teach the primary kids. I also really enjoyed seeing the elephants and giraffes at the safari.
Kiera- my favourite part of the trip was the time with the children in the kamuzinda school and how friendly all the ugandans have been. I also loved the safari seeing all the elephants and giraffes and the moment we saw the lions cross the road and our driver Gerald made the experience 10 times better. We love you Gerald.
Sylvie- my favourite part of the trip were the days spent at kamuzinda and bunjako were we could make friends with the kids at the bonfire and sports days, I also really enjoyed that safari because it was a very exiting experience.
Daisy- my favourite part about the trip was the safari because it was so cool to see all the animals and have a once in a lifetime experience. As well as Nelson our driver making it alot more exciting and fun by making up a song with him and thanking him with a card.
Tassy- my favourite part of the trip was being in kamazinda and bunjako school, I loved socialising with the other students and playing sports with them! Volleyball was super funn.
Ailsa – my favourite part of the trip was arriving at each different schools and being welcomed by them with the dancing and singing. I loved meeting all three different people and learning about everyone different lives. However I absolutely loved safari as I have never experienced something so cool like that before.
Libby- my favourite part of the trip was playing sports with our ugandan friends. I really enjoyed playing sports with my best friends from school whilst socialising with new people and learning about them. I also really enjoyed sharing rooms with my closest friends and experiencing safari with them.
Poppy- My favourite part of the trip was in Kamuzinda when each evening we practiced for planets we danced and sang. It was honesty so fun and I met some of my closest friends I made on the trip. I was in jupiter and WE WONNN !!! the competiontion which was such an amazing experience and after we found out we won we celebrated dancing and singing until the speaker died 🙁 .
Daisy H – my favourite part of the trip was playing football with all the students. I wasn’t the best on the pitch but I really appreciated everyone letting me have a go and I ended up not being terrible in the end. I’ve made so many new friends here and I hope we can all meet up for a reunion BBQ on the beach ♡♡
Bethan K – My favourite part of the trip was the sightseeing in Kampala as it was really cool to learn about Ugandan history. I also really enjoyed the safari because how can you ever beat seeing a lion at 15 on a school trip!
Lucy my favorite part of the trip was lowkey eating the whole buffet at safari plus also hanging out with my son Johnny!!
