This morning I woke up to the lovely song ‘Hotel California’..yay. Again. How amazing :/ Then we had breakfast which was good as always, the fruit is so much sweeter here than at home. After, we went to work, and I was helping build foundations for the farmhouse. I’ve been on that project since the beginning, hacking at the grass, digging trenches, building foundations, and have the blisters on my hands to prove it! Its so nice working though, it’s so rewarding to feel like you’re earning your place with the hard work you do. We’re making great progress on the foundations, layering brick after brick until eventually we get a wall. Plus, we have such an amazing view to work to, so it’s easy to be motivated. After that we had lunch, but lunch was quite late because donations of clothing was being handed out. Because of the late lunch we ended up not getting time for work in the afternoon, because there was planets or football on. Although I didn’t go to the official football match between Richard Lander vs Molly & Paul, I heard it was 1:0 to them! Apparently they’re really good! I went to planets instead, which was so fun! Planets is a competition of groups, like the houses in RLS (Godrevy, Pentire, Rame & Towan) they have Venus (my group of choice), Jupiter, Neptune and Earth. Today was so fun because we practiced some songs for the competition and then me and Aurora spent the better half of 2.5 hours learning African dancing!!!! Because everyone was watching/playing the football it was just me and Aurora but that was fine because we got to spend time with the friends we’ve made here! I’ve learnt so many cool dances, the way they flow is so smooth and natural, and shows just how deeply embedded music is in their culture. After dinner we had room inspections to keep them tidy and our group came third, not the best but at least we didn’t come last and don’t have to wash the cars! It’s been so busy here, and I’m having so much fun. Mum, if you’re reading this, I hope Hobie is okay! I miss you all x (You too dad, the morning playlist reminds me of yours!)
